On Saturday, March 4, 2017, District 14 will hold District Band Assessment at Skyline High School.  The following schedule will apply for this weekend:

12:30 PM Depart for Skyline HS

2:15 PM CB Warm-up

2:45 PM CB PERFORMANCE

3:15 PM CB SIGHTREAD

4:45 PM SWE Warm-up

5:15 PM SWE PERFORMANCE

5:45 PM SWE SIGHTREAD

6:30 PM Depart Skyline HS for JWHS

7:30 PM Return to JWHS

Students needing to leave directly from Skyline HS may do so with a written note and will be released to their PARENTS ONLY.

Williamsburg Trip Cancelled

The JWHS Band spring trip to Williamsburg, VA has been cancelled.  Less than half of the students replied to the intent letters.

We will begin putting together the Disney trip shortly.  Payments will remain on your students account for the Disney trip.  Parents that want their Williamsburg trip deposits and payments refunded will need to request those amounts through the executive board.  Please submit the request in writing to the silver box.

JWHS Band Winter Conert

The JWHS Band Winter Concert will be on Tuesday, December 20th, at 7PM.  This concert will include both Jazz Ensembles and both Concert Ensembles.

Additionally, Yearbook Photos will be taken prior to both Band performances.

JWHS Presents – A Musical – “A Christmas Carol”

Don’t forget that the musical presentation of “A Christmas Carol” runs from December 15-17th in the George Washington Auditorium at James Wood High School.

Tickets are $8

Come share in this wonderful Christmas story.

All District Band Auditions 12/10

All District Band Auditions will be this Saturday, December 10 at Rappahannock County High School.

Student Registration begins at 7AM.  Mr Rutherford will be at Rappahannock County High School waiting for the students who are auditioning.

12/5 Booster Meeting Cancelled

The December Booster meeting has been cancelled.

2017 Band Trip – Itinerary Change

To help minimize the cost of the JWHS Band/Color Guard 2017 spring trip to Williamsburg, VA, we have decided to shorten the trip by one day. We will be going to Williamsburg, VA for 2 days rather than 3 days. We will leave as planned on Friday, April 29th and return late Saturday night, April 30th.

By not staying thru Sunday, the cost of the trip will be reduced by ($100) making the total cost of the trip $350 per student and $305 per chaperone for quadruple occupancy.  See below for the cost of other occupancies:

Q= $350 / $305
T = $360 / $315
D = $400 / $355
S = $500 / $455

If you have already sent in your full payment for the original amount, let us know if you want a refund or would like to apply to your students account.

There will be a new itinerary sent out shortly.

Dumpling Orders are Due!!!

Please turn in all orders and money by Tuesday, November 15th.  They should be put in the silver box. No cash and make sure your students name is on the envelope and all checks turned in.

We need to know the totals sold so we have enough ingredients.

We had last minute orders turned in for pies and we completely sold out. Please turn in your orders on time, our community looks forward to pies and dumplings each year and it is terrible if we have to turn people away.

NO DUMPLING ORDERS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER 9am ON BAKING DAY. 

NO ORDERS WILL BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT FULL PAYMENT.

Veteran’s Day Event – Friday in Middletown

The band will perform in Middletown for a Veteran’s Day event on Friday.  This is during school hours.

Please make sure your student has the following:
~ a packed lunch
~ black socks
~ marching shoes

We are hoping to be back before the end of the school day, but there is a chance we won’t make it back before the buses leave.  You may need to pick them up.

JMU Competition Report Time Change

Since we will now be serving lunch the report time has been changed to 10:00am

Please dress warm and bring money for concessions (dinner)

Millbrook Game Pep Band Cancelled

Due to the forecast tonight’s band activities have been cancelled.  Please enjoy your evening and rest up, tomorrow is a big day!

JMU Lunch Change

We WILL be serving lunch tomorrow at 11:15

We have a donation of pulled pork and cornbread, no need to pack a lunch unless you don’t eat pork.

Meal set/up crew please arrive by 10:30, if you signed up for food please bring it then or let us now if you can lo longer do so.

The following information is for the James Madison University Parade of Champions Marching Band Competition at James Madison University on October 22, 2016. Students (and chaperones) will need to bring a packed lunch on Saturday and money for dinner which will be concessions after our performance.
