This marching season for football game night, the pit crew is needed just prior to halftime for set up.

 

If you are able to assist just come to the end of the field then.

 

We have parents that have donated an enclosed trailer for our marching season that will make moving equipment much easier. Thank you to the Miller’s for this generous donation.

 

I hope to see you all at the halftime show.

New Process for Football Games

New Process for Football Games

 

We will be implementing a new process starting with this week’s dinner before the home football game. We will be handing out wristbands to allow free admittance into the game for only those people who help with one or more of the following jobs:

 

  • Help setup and/or cleanup
  • Help serve the students during the meal
  • Member of the pit crew
  • Volunteer to take extra food to the Evans Home

 

We will be feeding all band students, pit crew and helpers first before any other non band people will be feed.

 

No one will be allowed to ride in the back of the pit crew truck unless you are part of the pit crew or if there are health reasons why you can’t walk to the field.

It is unfortunate that we have to take these measures but we have had some issues in past years with people getting in for free but not doing their part.

 

If you have any questions or concerns, please address them with the Booster President.

Meal Coordinator Needed

The Band Boosters is currently looking for someone (or maybe even a team of two) to take care of the Football Game Night Meals.

Duties include:

  • Plan the meals
  • Send out via sign up genius for food requests
  • Send out via sign up genius for setup/cleanup volunteers
  • Ensure there are enough drink mixes, paper products, and utensils.
  • Ensure that the cafeteria is clean and no food or dishes are left behind.
  • Find volunteers to take leftover food to the Evans Home or some other location.
Benefits:
  • Free admittance to home football games
  • Happy Band students will full stomachs and smiles on their faces.

[PIT CREW] Volunteers Needed Tonight

Several parents showed interest in helping out with the pit crew.  If you can help tonight please come to the band parking lot at 5:00pm.

Don’t miss out on great food and a great cause.

Show your team spirit by joining us for a fundraiser to support James Wood High School Band Boosters. Come in to the Chipotle at 2012 S Pleasant Valley Road in Winchester on Monday, September 19th between 5:00pm and 9:00pm.

 

Bring in THIS FLYER, show it on your smartphone or tell the cashier you’re supporting the cause to make sure that 50% of the proceeds will be donated to James Wood High School Band Boosters.

Marching Band Shoes and Gloves.

On Monday August 8th and Tuesday August 9th all students will be sized for marching band uniforms.  At this time all shoe and glove orders must be submitted.

 

  • Shoes $40.00
  • Gloves $ 4.00
  • Percussion Gloves $25.00

 

Shoes must be solid black marching shoes.  If you have solid black shoes from previous years (or middle school) you may continue to use those.  If you are unsure if your child’s shoe is acceptable for JWHS Band marching season please have them ask Mr. Rutherford prior to Monday August 8th.
